Fall Decor & The Perfect Storm

A little snippet of our lovely fall decor created by my mother (Needful Things All Natural Home and Body Care) with some of the after effects of the #AlaskaStorm. Some of you may have heard of the lovely storm we had here in Alaska a few weeks ago. Well apparently we are in for another one beginning tonight. Everyone is battening down the hatches. I personally am preparing with lavender tea and getting out my crocheting......and of course praying! A lot of damage was done during the last storm. Many people in the "world" don't understand why Christians often don't freak out about what appears to be impending danger/discomfort. That can be summed up with Matthew 6:25-17

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

I frequently meditate on and recite this scripture, especially verse 27. Worrying will not add a single hour to your life, and in fact due to the negative impact on your health it can have, it may in fact take hours away  from your life! We are able to rest in the love and peace of God despite however bad the situation may seem.
If anyone in Alaska is reading this, be safe and stay prayed up! God bless you!
